Cornwall U16 Girls V Somerset U16 Girls
A strong showing from the Cornwall U16 Girls PDG pathway saw both Year 10 and Year 11
squads record deserved victories over Somerset on Sunday 12 April. The fixture, played in
front of large and enthusiastic crowds, showcased the depth of talent emerging through the
pathway and the growing confidence within both age groups.
Despite periods of poor weather, the standard of rugby remained high throughout. Both Year
groups delivered a composed and energetic performance, controlling territory and
demonstrating real progress in their collective decision‑making. The mature, physical
display, converting pressure into points and managing the game with increasing authority
was testament to the coaches game plan and the players resolve.
The atmosphere around the event was outstanding, with players, coaches, and families
contributing to a positive and enjoyable day for all involved. Particular thanks go to St Austell
RFC for hosting the fixture so professionally and creating an environment worthy of the
occasion.
